Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, this work examines my internal struggle to understand my connection to femininity and questions what it means to be feminine. I am investigating, and in some cases celebrating, the ways in which I relate to or deviate from socially constructed femininity. There are many layers of complexity to this internal dialogue that make subtle correlations between each of the pieces. Through my experiences, desires and circumstances this work reveals a contemporary discourse on gender, normativity and societal expectations. Undercurrents of feminism, queerness, body, sex and vulnerability are the foundation of my practice.
